Sales training and marketing tips based on reality sellingbecomes almost obsolete when you enter the world of onlinemarketing and selling. The average marketing person standsamazed at the millions of advertisements, listings, promises ofsuccess and money.
This is something every online marketeer will experience. Becareful of the undercurrents of being drawn in to suchexcitement, if you do not keep your wits about you. I am notgoing to scare you away. but I do want you to listen. This canprevent you losing a lot of money because the REST of thepackage seem genuine.
After spending lots of time and money, seeing some results butnot having the time or patience that is needed to drive a propermarketing project for business or product, one tends to turn tothe one that says: I am a millionaire and I will show you theshortcuts to get there.
Very easy writing, very clever words, lots of things that makesense. Nothing wrong with that. I am even able to identify thatit is similar to doing magic.
You visualize, you use tools, you get manifestation intoreality. Watching the results are really exciting, when you seethat this different strategy makes your hard work visible to themillions using search engines.
Tempted further, you make use of the mass mailing programunderwritten by such an advertising guru. They too seem verygenuine. Speaking of legal opt in e-mails etc.
And you make the mistake to sit back and relax. And Believe.Nothing wrong with that either, except never to let your guarddown. You are after all a "protege" of this big, sucessful manwith his empire.
Let your alarmbells go off when the phone rings. You had tosubmit your telephone information when you made the purchase forthe book, or when you subscribed to the program.
Listen, LISTEN when that call comes. At first your heart races, when you are told that this is the time to act NOW. Nottomorrow, not waiting for the hardcopy document. Careful, cleverquestions are asked about your budget, how much money you wouldhave available on your cards, whether they via/mastercard.
You are smoothly being told that you will be assisted by aprofessional to drive your business to ultimate sucess.Brilliantinitial sales pitch.
The executive will be insistant. Grab your creditcard and giveout the information over the phone! Along with the little 3digit key at the back. Yes, now over the phone! And to agree togive away thousands of the big US dollar because unless you actNOW, this chance will be gone forever!
DO NOT do that. Ever. This is when your alarmbells should beringing so loud, that you make an excuse. You play for time. Youget a reprieve for delay from the executive of this marketinggiant.
This is the time surf the Web and use the right keywords. Theyare : Scam + the Company name.
Dear marketeer, so eager and so keen, be prepared for the shockwhen you see tens, even thousands of listings of people who havebeen caught. Because nine out of ten times, THAT phone call IS ascam.
You can report it, you can mail the relevant company and askfor an explanation. Chances are that you will get an automatedreply telling you that they will come back in 24 hours. Whichthey do not.
Suddenly all the companies that are so heavily promoted by theguru, The mark Joyners, and Tom Kluckner, who stands picturedwith this saviour of online advertising and marketing , send outurgent emails that they not in any way associated with thiscompany. They agree that you should NEVER give out thisinformation on the phone!
Your emails from the mother company will remain unanswered. Thephone number will be different.
You came away from a huge scam. Scared out of your wits perhaps, but almost intact. Never, NEVER work with a company that callsand just ask for your credit details over the phone. DO notthink that just because the owner shows off his new car, andpictures with his boat and throws around huge names, that theyare 100% geniune.
For if you do, you are easy prey to scam.
The emails to you will stop after your queries, no moreadvertising emails sent to you. And no, even if you insist, youwill not even get a remote explanation of why they need to dothis.
But they take your money. Month after month.
I have been a a sales and marketing manager for many years. I amnot blind to oppertunity and chances to grow. I am not averse tonew strategy. I give motivational talks into business people andit works. The reason for this warning is clear. If they canALMOST get me, would they succeed in taking your money?
Listen to your instinct. ASK for more detail, whether by fax oremail. Request references.
Search the internet and check if maybe, just maybe this is ascam.
Just a word of warning. I have continued to mail. No response. This morning they took money from my credit card ( I bought thebook remember) I warned you, FreeAdGuru. I am taking you on.
There was a reaction after publishing this article without theupdate. Both Aweber and moneyhome hastened to cancel mydebitorders, moneyhome almost telling me in a knowbetter way, that ALL I had to do was send an email to cancel my protegeprogram. Hello! I have copies of all the emails I sent!
Do not give up if you are caught in a scam.
WRITE. PUBLISH.
Articles on the internet will soon catch the eye of the peopledoing you in. Even a thief hates bad publicity.
