What Are RSS Feeds?
By Sean Felker        [Hits: 27997]

RSS stands for "Really Simple Syndication." It¡¯s a format that\rweb sites and blogs can use to send updated headlines to you via\rservices like My Yahoo!. My Yahoo! gathers the content you\rselect from a variety of sources and displays it for you in one\rconvenient location. Syndication means you don't have to visit\reach site individually to see what's new -- you simply scan\rheadlines or brief article summaries and click to read the full\rtext. That¡¯s the "really simple" part. And it¡¯s "really simple"\rfor publishers to make their content accessible this way too.

RSS is an easy way for you to keep updated automatically on\rwebsites you like. Instead of you having to go to websites to\rsee if they've written a new article or feature, you can use RSS\r(which stands for Really Simple Syndication) to get them to tell\ryou every time they have something new.

Different News Readers work on different operating systems, so\ryou will need to take this into account when you make your\rchoice. The easiest way to have your RSS feeds sent to you is to\ropen a my Yahoo or a my MSN account . Then all you have to do is\radd the content you want delivered to you.

There are a large number of different News Readers available.
