If you are looking for an affordable way to drive traffic toyour site, getting active on forums help. I don't mean gettingactive as in search forums on search engines, register for anaccount, post an ad about your site, and never go back to thatforum again. Not only will your posts be considered as SPAM andget deleted by admin, you will maybe receive 1 or 2 visitorsfrom that one ad post if you are lucky before admin finds theposts for deletion.
If you want to take full advantage of forums to get your siteexposed to active members of that particular forum that you arein, find a couple of busy forums that interests you and wheremembers talk about topics that are relevant to what you do onthe internet. You will get to read questions posted by ones thatare new to internet business, and if you've ran your businessfor a while, you may be able to help by responding to thoseposts with your personal experiences and some information thatmay help them further. The more active you get with posting andhelping others, the more exposure your site will get. How? Eachregistered member are allowed to create their own signaturewhich is shown every time you make a post. Although you are notallowed to advertise your site directly, intentionally, you areallowed to have a link as part of your signature that willdirect interested readers to your site.
Of course, you can be the one asking questions as well. I'm surethat you will appreciate answers to your questions and maybecheck out what the responder's site is like, if he/she has alink as his/her signature. That's how people will visit yoursite. If you are willing to help answer people's questions andgive them tips and suggestions, interested viewers will readyour post and would like to know what sort of business you do onthe web. With the willingness to help others who are in need ofhelp with their online business, you will receive theirattention and appreciation - sort of like a win-win situation tome. What goes around, comes around.
