Bug Huntress QA Lab announces of extending its BugHuntress TestSuit functionality for Palm OS 3.0-5.4 Kharkiv, Ukraine -October 4, 2005 - Bug Huntress QA Lab, the leading softwaretesting company for testing applications for PDA's and smartphones being the originator and of the pioneering BugHuntressTest Suite which is an automated testing system for PDAapplications, announces its BugHuntress Test Suite functionalityextension for application testing on Palm OS compatiblehandhelds and emulators, working on Palm OS 3.0-5.4.
Bug Huntress Team feels proud to remind of its BugHuntress TestSuite automated testing system which is a client-server systemwith Windows server that enables testing both on Palm OS devicesand their emulators by comparing the result with referencevalues at control points. PC and Palm parts of BugHuntress TestSuite interact through COM-port, by using USB-bus and via TCP/IPprotocol. Automated testing is performed using specialscenarios, scripts and control points (e.g. screen CRC, controlsstates, databases states, etc.) which basically representsoftware test plan written in Java-script with BHTS commands.The system's flexibility allows to script any test plan andeasily carry out functional, output and stress testing. TestSuite is especially convenient for regressive testing, whenchanges to program code are continually made throughout softwarelifecycle. Some useful application's features are: capability tocontrol reference sums comparison, capability to takescreenshots during test execution and compare them with thereference ones, handy results logging.
The overwhelming advantage of the enhanced BugHuntress TestSuite if compared to proximate products for embedded systemswith sophisticated human interfaces is its ability to build inbetween the Palm OS and the application being tested andintercept the wider variety of events on the system level. Itneeds not to emulate system pressing on buttons but interceptsevents within the system.
Now the enhanced version of BugHuntress Test Suite supports theall the above OSes. It also now supports WinCE and Symbianplatforms.
