There are many types of futons, also known as a futon bed, andthey can possess many advantages for you and your home. They arevery versatile, and can be changed from a bed to a couch usuallyin a very short time with little effort at all. That isbasically what a futon bed is: a pece of furniture that can beused as either a bed or a sofa. They are usually very affordableand can be purchased as a set. Futons, otherwise known as futonbeds, are usually made up of a mattress, a futon cover, and aframe.
The futon mattress of a futon bed is usually not as thick as aregular bed mattress, and can be filled with foam, cotton,innersprings, polyester and/or viscoelastic foam. These can beon their own or layered to provide a nice level of comfort anddurability, and are usually precision tufted to keep thecontents of your futon mattress from shifting. Of course, themore you pay, the higher quality mattress you can expect to get.
The frame of a futon bed, however can be pretty much whateveryou want it to be. They can be made of wood, such as oak, pine,maple, and others can be made of metal or rattan. Whatever theyare made of, you can be sure to easily find one with a greatdesign and that is stylish enough to fit the decor of your hometo a "T".
The thing about the futon bed is that they can be a greatsolution to any office, dorm room, bonus room or any other roomwhere space can be a concern. They are fantastic for a homeoffice, because they can transform your home office into anextra bedroom in very little time to accommodate your houseguests. Most futons are either bi-fold or tri-fold, whichbasically describes the number of flat surfaces that make up thefuton. When you pick out the futon bed for you, make sure youopen and close it, because you want something that effortlesslyconverts from a bed to a couch for you. After all, who wants tostruggle with a heavy mattress and frame when you are ready forbed? The easier the better. So whatever look you go with, makesure the design is convenient like a futon should be.
