GPS systems all started out in the army in the year 1970. In thearmy, many soldiers needed navigation systems to know theirdirections around other countries. Without this device it wouldbe really hard for them to find their way around. This devicehas saved much of the soldiers time in war and has also savedthem many lives. GPS systems are very powerful devices and are agreat navigation system to use to get around. So what exactlyare GPS systems?
GPS which stands for global positioning system, according todictionary.com is: A system of satellites, computers, andreceivers that is able to determine the latitude and longitudeof a receiver on Earth by calculating the time difference forsignals from different satellites to reach the receiver.
GPS systems have gone for beyond just serving the army. They nowserve just about everyone. These navigation systems help driversfind there way through city streets and help hikers find theirway through the rough terrains of the mountains. They also helppilots find their way around the skies as well as helpingmariners find their way around the great sea. The GPS systemstechnology can help serve anyone in need of it.
GPS systems are especially a great thing to have for men, andI'm sure all women would agree. As everyone knows men don't askfor directions. If a man is just to cool to ask for directionshe could simply use his navigation system and would never getlost and of course would never have to ask for directions again. This saves the time of the wife who always would have to end upasking for directions. If you really think about it, using theGPS to get directions is a form of asking for directions, butshhhh don't tell any man this.
When you decide to buy a GPS system for yourself, I wouldrecommend any Garmin GPS. Garmin's are the number one brand namefor GPS's and I've heard nothing but good things from people whohave bought them. By all means do your research on all differenttypes of GPS systems but at the end you'll realize that no othernavigation system can beat the Garmin brand.
